Diamant is highly involved on the TAP Project, defined as the biggest project in Albania with huge positive impact in both local economy and Europe.

Diamant proudly counts several contracts with TAP itself and with its main contractors that take part on the pipeline construction that crosses Albania in 200 km and it is supposed to deliver gas from Azerbaijan to Europe by 2020.

Firstly, Diamant has made a road survey at the main road sections, on behalf of the Albanian company Gener2. This study was made by simulating a transport with a real truck and trailer and by identifying so the main critical paths.

On the beginning of 2016, Diamant signed the mutual agreement with TAP for the rental of the main marshaling yard (MMY), near Shkozet (Durres). This logistics terminal with a surface up to 90.000 sqm is used as the main storage area of the pipes and construction machineries.

During march of the same year, Diamant signed the contract with the German company EMS Shipping and Trading for the pipes transportation from Durres port until MMY,being so the final transportation company as a subcontractor to the German pipes producer Salzgitter Mannesmann International.

During the same time, Diamant gets awarded on the tender for the transportation of pipes and materials from the construction French company Spiecapag. At this stage, Diamant becomes a strategic partner on the project since its main responsibilities relies on distributing the pipes at the main sites in Albania such as Fier, Berat, Corovode and Korce; within the project schedule and in compliance with the highest level of safety at work. Most of the transports are considered exceptional since 90 % of the pipes are 18 meters in length.

Moreover, Diamant performs all the customs formalities on behalf of TAP and Spiecapag through its own customs agency with representative offices in Durres and Tirana. The specialized team of Diamant customs agents have cleared all pipes that arrived by vessel as well as all the machineries and equipment on behalf of Spiecapag during the mobilization phase.

TAP project sets the next milestone to the company’s achievements, by certifying once again the excellence of Diamant in planning, management, transport and safety.
